Lara Croft GO For Mac

I love the Lara Croft series and have played every Mac port available. I would have liked to enjoy this one as much as the others BUT the programmers did not include code to assign my joy stick switches to the various movements. Then go onto the Internet and Google Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary Walkthrough. You can choose from any.

This game has been out a very long time. We know that. It won Apple’s iPhone Game of the Year (amongst many other awards) all the way back in 2015. So why write about it now? Because if you’re ready for a replay, the best way to play it is on Apple TV.

For the uninitiated, Square Enix’s Lara Croft Go is a turn-based puzzle game set in the Tomb Raider universe. You control Lara Croft, but not in the manner to which you’re accustomed. She moves on set paths, one node at a time.

Each time you move Lara the enemies (and sometimes obstacles) can move, too. The trick is to move Lara in the right direction at the right time in order to avoid enemies, access entryways, and avoid the obstacles that would eliminate her. This all takes place one screen at a time with the focus being entirely on puzzle solving, not action.

  1. Experience the first ever co-op action-adventure game featuring Lara Croft. Team up with a friend or go at it alone as you traverse and solve deadly traps, fight hordes of undead enemies, and collect over 60 artifacts and relics. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light offers fast-paced action and breathtaking visuals shown through an isometric view.
  2. Best Mobile/Handheld Game - The Game Awards 2015 Lara Croft GO is a turn based puzzle-adventure set in a long-forgotten world. Explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, discover well-kept secrets and face deadly challenges as you uncover the myth of the Queen of Venom. Experience lush visuals and a captivating soundtrack. Navigate using simple swipe-to-move controls. Fight.

Although that makes it a Tomb Raider game in character only (Deus Ex Go and Hitman Go are also available), there’s plenty of elements here for longtime fans. The lush, cinematic graphics are very reminiscent of the tombs Lara has explored in early games, coming to life with animated creatures and foliage. There’s also Lara herself, complete with a closet full of unlockable outfits pulled from her various games. And like those games, there are plenty of bonus items to find along the way, making the game even more challenging. There’s even the occasional boss battle.

This type of turn-based gameplay is great on your Apple TV because it doesn’t require a third-party MFi controller; simply swipe your Siri Remote in the direction you want to move. There may be issues with sensitivity and misread swipes, but because the puzzles are fairly short it’s never a tremendous hassle to have to start from the beginning because of a misread swipe.

It also looks great on your Apple TV, taking full advantage of your TVs display. Some of the more fun animations and effects are easier to see on the large TV, as are the hidden artifacts to obtained. Plus, the puzzle-based gameplay is great for multiple people to solve at once, and that’s easier when gathered in the living room than hunched around a tiny iPhone.

Lara Croft Go has been updated since its initial release with new levels, although the most recent update on July 19, 2018, was only for bug fixes and various other improvements. Because the game can be completed in a matter of hours, I would like to see new content made available much more frequently.

Still, if you’ve never played the game before or haven’t done so in quite some time, Lara Croft Go is one you should definitely set up on your Apple TV. It’s fun, it looks great, and it’s a perfect way to kill some time when your digital streaming service is down.

And honestly, it’s more faithful to the Tomb Raider legacy than the recent Crystal Dynamics games.

Lara Croft Go is available now for $4.99 in the App Store. For more information, visit www.laracroftgo.com.
